I made the mistake again today of reading the newspaper. My stupid fucking problems pale in comparison to the worldwide carnage unleashed every day. Just a few things: the American government is a fucking sham (read any article or watch any debate – we’re screwed), some dumbass in California was “so mad” about “who gives a shit what” that he set 37 fires (jackass), two Navy pilots killed three people and then themselves (so much for the military being good for you), a Roman Catholic bishop fathered two children (celibacy for priests is FUCKING STUPID, you Catholics!), Libya ousted its leader but is essentially in a civil war now (I called that months ago), a riot in a Mexican prison left 31 people dead because they were arguing over territory WITHIN THE PRISON (what the fuck are the Mexicans even doing down there???!!). And then …
A fifteen-year-old – a sophomore in high school if she were in America – got the shit beaten out of her in Afghanistan. Why? Because they are a backwards-assed, tribal, dumb-motherfucking bunch of religious zealots who hide reality behind misogynist laws. I cannot believe what the international community – no, scratch that … I can’t believe what PEOPLE will let happen to other people. Let me explain:
A fifteen-year-old Afghani girl was sold to a husband. (I don’t think I need to extrapolate on the idiocy of that last sentence.) Rather than trying to create an arranged-marriage bond, the in-laws simply beat the living shit out of her because they were trying to force her into prostitution. She was kept in the basement of her in-law’s house for six months where they ripped out all her fingernails, tortured her with hot irons, and broke all her fingers.
Fortunately, the girl’s uncle called the authorities, and (although in the past the previously mentioned abuse has been perfectly legal under Sharia Law) the authorities rescued her. The in-laws claim to be totally innocent (as if this fucking girl ripped her own fingernails out and beat herself to the point that both of her eyes were swollen shit). Fucking assholes. Who does that?! What kind of perverted , masochistic, sadist tortures a child (their daughter-in-law nonetheless) in order to make money off of pimping her out to other people?!
This is why I am a misanthrope.
Let’s not pretend that the international world is equal. Many of these foreign countries have laws that prevent women from working or going to school or even leaving home without a male relative. The last time I checked, women are responsible for birthing ALL people, including men … so … maybe these fucking bastards ought to think for a second about who has the power. And maybe these women ought to carry a knife with them and castrate the bastards who treat them like chattel. The fact that older women are IN on the abuse of other (younger) women is just sick. Here is where the next revolution in the Arab world needs to happen – treating women like they are human beings rather than vessels for semen to create other male Arabs.
